Robert M. Lander is now president and CEO of the Austin (Texas) Convention and Visitors Bureau, succeeding Ric Luber. Lander comes from the Greater Phoenix CVB, where he was executive vice president.

Independent meeting planning firm Conferon, based in Twinsburg, Ohio, has named Shelley K. McLoughlin national sales manager for its Boston office, where she will be responsible for the Northeast market. McLoughlin was previously sales director, meeting planning channel, for Passkey.

MC2 has named Randy Smalley division president at its new Dallas offices. Smalley had been general manager of Derse Exhibits' Dallas division.

The Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau announces two recent promotions: Deborah Burleson is director, national accounts-corporate/East Coast; and Lisa Parman is director, national accounts-corporate/West Coast.

Corrine Moryson has been named director of marketing at Pan Pacific Vancouver, in Vancouver, B.C. She returns to Vancouver from Los Angeles, where she was most recently regional director of sales and marketing for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc.

The Performance Group of Northern California, a meeting and incentive planning company, has named Penelope Dwyer account executive. Dwyer had been director of corporate communications for Advanced Communications Technology, and before that, director of strategic alliances for Voquette and Audiohighway, both Internet media companies. The Performance Group is based in Emeryville, Calif.
