Shortly after the Professional Convention Management Association conference in early January, the organization fired its president and CEO David DuBois, CMP. Senior vice president Jay Donohue will serve as interim president and CEO. Dubois has landed on his feet as executive vice president of the Meeting Professionals International Foundation. He was formerly COO of MPI.

James Lonsdale-Hands, former vice president of sales at Wyndham Jade, the convention and housing registration company, has joined Burlingame, Calif.-based Conference Planners as director of business development.

The George P. Johnson Co., the Auburn Hills, Mich.-based event marketing agency, has named Susan E. Fisher to the position of executive director of new business development. Before joining GPJ, Fisher spent 10 years with Exhibitgroup/Giltspur in southern California.

Arlington, Va.-based PGI Inc., an event and communications agency, has named Mike Burgess regional vice president of sales, West Coast. He will be based in Irvine, Calif. Burgess had been with for Caribiner International.

StarCite Inc., a provider of Web-based services for the meetings industry, has hired Cynthia Connors as regional vice president of sales for the West Coast, based in San Francisco. Connors rejoins StarCite after an eight-month stint with IDG publishing.
